February Update:

February Update:
Dale Braswell came to Nashville on January 12.  We met him for Dinner and had a nice evening discussing how Connect Church is doing  and how we can help them in the future.  They are doing well.  The progress is a little slow because of the economy,  the group is growing in size though.
We will probably plan a trip in the summer to help them out.
Gary Chupik and The Emmaus Road Church plant are doing well.  They have a spot to use for their start of services, The Lyon's Den Christian coffee shop in Botthell.  We have a group going to help them March 25 -30.

Connect Church - Lynnwood, WA

Dale and Tina Braswell were most recently in youth ministry at Inglewood Baptist Church in Nashville. They have two young girls, Hannah and Kaitlyn.

Dale is working with a team of three other couples that moved to Seattle from the South before the church had its first small group activity. Some, if not all, of the team members feel led to start new churches out of the first Connect Church.

They are all serving and worshiping at The Journey Church of Mill Creek. They do this to learn the process of planting and to have a coach to be accountable to.

They do not have as many "church" needs as Emmaus. They are too early the church-planting process to know what their material needs might be. But here are some things you can pray for:

1) Sale or homes in other states
2) Local jobs (Dale is a barista at Starbucks - the others need jobs)

Emmaus - Woodinville, WA

Emmaus Church is being started by Gary and Molly Chupik. Gary has been on the staff of several churches. Most recently he was the Pastor to Small Groups. Gary is from western Canada. Molly is from the Seattle area. They have three children - Josiah, Zachary and Sarah.

Gary found Adrian on Craigslist. He interviewed a few people until he found the quality he was seeking. Adrian writes a large part of his music. He oversees band practice and performance. They also have to set up and tear down the stage. Everything they use comes from a "church-in-a-box" - a large van with a double axle trailer. It is all on numbered carts. They use a large crew to accomplish it all.

Robyn works with the children. She is from California, as is Adrian. The team is doing their preview services in the Bothell YMCA. She has very nice facilities to work with.

They plan to launch in January 2009. First they will blanket the neighborhoods with "doorknocker" informational materials. This is when they will need help from their partnering churches.

Emmaus has several need to be met for the January launch. They are:

1) An LCD Projector (minimum 3500 Lumen) for the theaters ($1600-$2000) (This is a major priority)
2) Banners and Signage ($2000) to promote the church 3) Help sending out mailer to community ($1500) If you can help, contact the Whites, Dovers or Christensens.

Finally!

Finally after three vision trips by the core team, Chad and Dawn White, Tony and Brandi Dover,
and Dan and Elizabeth Christensen plus one extra by Dan and Elizabeth we feel that we have found a good match for FBC. The first trip we thought we wanted to be involved in the downtown-Capitol
Hill area. So we toured downtown and the Pike Place Market etc. On one trip we passed out socks and hand-warmers to street people in downtown Seattle. After our first two trips, we widened our vision to include suburban areas around Seattle. We have now met with two church planters who we would like to partner with.
